Hisel Valley Retreat is a small family-owned and operated vacation destination for those seeking the tranquility that can only be found in the beauty of rural Appalachia. Our cottages are located at the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. We are approximately 23 miles due east of Berea, Kentucky. Berea is well known for its arts and crafts, and is home to a craft fesitval held each year in July. This festival draws thousands of people from all over the United States, who bring their homemade crafts for sale, and purchase crafts made by local artisans. Berea has several antique stores and other craft stores for your shopping enjoyment. Berea is located at exit 76 on I-75 and has several nice home town restaurants and fast food dining.
Nearby both cottages is a beautiful pond that we built and have kept stocked for over a decade. Needless to say, if you enjoy fishing you'll love this pond. The pond is spring-fed and holds catfish, bass, bluegill, carp, and one koi (Japanese goldfish). If your lucky you can see the koi as it approaches the surface to feed.
