The Northeast is known for its culture, theaters and museums; as well as its educational system, with some of the most respected universities in the country. It is also known for its mix of ethnic groups, including Irish, Italian, and many eastern Europeans.
Back roads wind through valleys of small streams or climb the steep pitch of a hill. They cut through pastures where rocks crop from between juniper and sweet fern.
